Strange Reflections
05:47
|
|||
Well I go down to the river twice a week,
To forget about the bastards who call me a freak,
Skimmed a few stones like yesterday,
Until I hear your voice ( Tell me what it said) yeah.
Down the river twice a week.
Well down into the water i see myself,
But the face staring back at me was someone else,
Well I peered even closer (Tell me what you see)
It was a dead man's eyes staring back at me yeah,
Down the river three times a week.
There were two bullet holes in his head,
And the force of this collision made the water turn red,
Well I fell back and let out a scream
until your voice comes back and it haunts me yeah.
Down the river everyday of the week.
I still go down to the river everyday of the week
To go and see my only friend,
He's the only one who listens, the only one who understands.

The Poem
04:28
|
|||
Sitting at the Hayfield junction
Trying to gather my thoughts
And there's a taxi about to pass me
Metaphorically three miles away.
I'm thinking a lot about life and a little about death
And how everyone thinks my head's a mess,
Some say it's my hair, others say my thoughts
And I know they are both unorthodox but I like them
So I'm keeping it that way.
As I open a can of a branded beverage,
I take a sip as my head starts to slip off the edge
Thinking what life must be like with kids, I remind myself that I'm fine and I'll be OK.
And so I was saying before the taxi passes me and I pull out to head where I was originally bound
The organisation I work for just to get some pay.
Well the rainy stormy summers
And the bright windy Winters
Give me a migraine like nothing else
God if I knew where to buy a gun I'd blow it all away
Well I once dreamed of Hot Hawaiian beaches
Where the only thing you worry about is beautiful woman and no sons of bitches
But how could I leave my mother after she gave up half her youth just for me.
Last night I was sitting with a fitness fanatic who thinks I'm a lunatic because I don't work on my guns
Well he's got the kind that blow all the girls minds and mine out with just one punch
And the local tailor was writing crazy letters about how is life is going swell
As the local celebrity falls to his knees and accepts defeat at the final whistle
But what does he care?
He gets his drinks bought for him in every bar in town
And it's things like this that make me scream
LORD COULD YOU HELP ME OUT
The only paper left in my pockets are receipts and to do lists,
Because all the money in the world goes to someone I don't think even exists, you see,
There's beautiful thing about self destruction
When You think about all the corruption, scare mongering and lies
Told by a man who's maid hangs a £1000 suit on a clothes line along with his white shirt and ties
And as I turn on the news I can't help but think what is it that we are really fighting for?
Because it's no longer Peace, Pride or Human Rights
It's Lawyers guns money and war!

The Swamp
03:56
|
|||
I was in the swamp when the swamp was bombed
Well my heart was broken for the first and last time,
As the rain fell down on a stormy July,
Well leaders they fly in a private jet,
They don't understand how it feels,
They don't live with the regret no!
Do you remember the aftermath,
It was a cold September when they took their wrath
crying to my brothers, about how I feel
But the first class passengers don't understand
And they never will no!
I was in the swamp when the swamp was bombed
By a man in a uniform

Platoon
06:17
|
|||
There's two things I want to say to you I love you and I'll never let go
There's two things i want to say to you I love you now please let me go
Because you'll never understand, why my head's in the sand
But I'd be a hero if I died for some colours and land
But while we were sleeping, in the back,
A billionaire is planning all of the attacks.
And flicking on the radio stations,
Dreaming of the rock n roll conversation
I realise we are taken too soon, me,you and my brothers
in the Platoon
Because it doesn't matter where you're dropped
In the middle of the ocean or the middle of the War
Shoot, everything son, that you see,
From the air that you breathe to a so called enemy!
Another generation, the same old situation.
Millions of opinions taken too soon, on the front lines
With the Platoon

Sunrise Pt. 1
05:08
|
|||
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Looking for my brothers hand in the crowd
Looking through my rifles scope, he is nowhere to be found
As I was praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Sending us overseas, giving me a number for my identity
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Walking on a tightrope, seeing seven wonders through the eye of my rifles scope,
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise
Someone removed the blindfold from my eyes
Begging for a taste of home, never had so many brothers,
Never felt so alone.
Praying for a drop of rain at the sunrise

War
04:11
|
|||
War
War in the church, it's the only reason, we put our sunday clothes on.
War, war in my hometown, its the only time I get to feel on my own
And you know I love you, you make me feel so high I never want to come down, but then I came down.
Then I came down.
And a script, a script was written, but no magic happened
Until it was read, lost and found but memorised
By the people, who will cry this morning, as the rest celebrate
With fireworks tonight.

and Peace
05:51
|
|||
Apply oneself to listen clearly,
For what you’re about to hear will end severely
I hear them shouting is there a God above? But all I want to talk about here today is Peace and Love
The blood is warmer beneath the skin, BUT what you’re about to hear will make your skin crawl…!
Hut 1, Hut 2 don’t let me get to 4, this is not global warming this can not be ignored.
Everyone’s being so politically correct when being anti political, We’re the bow and the string of the masters fiddle!
We’re forced to see it as military action, When really (Mr speaker) it’s just people subtraction.
345 the same number to keep you alive, 3 minutes your hear will beat, the same amount of time they realise defeat
Three hundred and forty five the same number to keep YOU alive, 3 minutes your heart will beat
The same amount of time they realise defeat!
A Roar like THUNDER, hailstones of copper and lead. There goes another HUSBAND, FATHER, BROTHER, SON…Dead
We may or may have not done something we regret before today
But that does not define who we are, it only prepares us for the person we’re about to become.

Leon
06:07
|
|||
Remember the middle of nowhere baby on the edge of a haunted night
Where the good times were behind us, in a blizzard of black and white
I see you on the horizon honey Leon was my only friend
You reached out your hand and said a little prayer as the world was about to end (now let me tell you now)
Look into the fire and i see your eyes
Take a drive down to the city of lights
Where the signs, became clear
Dived into the water in my darkest hour
Where I hear your vice getting louder and louder
Now I can see the signs
Well I could walk across the water, but honey I'd be leaving you
But I can't stay here no longer when your lies become the truth
I used to be a preacher, but now my back is broken in two
Now I'm running, I'm crawling away from people like you.
Look into the fire yeah yeah
Is this the end of the world?

Sunrise Pt. 2
04:20
|
|||
Sunrise turn my dark night into morning
And take me back to a simpler time
Where I sat in clover fields and watched the sunrise
The world turns at different speeds, floating like the fallen leaves on the trees.
And take me back to a simpler time
Where I sat in clover fields and watched the sunrise

Don't Say Goodbye
05:06
|
|||
Don't say goodbye
Like you did before
You broke my heart in two
Coming round here telling the same old lies
it's my favorite fear
Well i've been thinking now it's my time
Just to tell you dear, its a long and lonesome ride
So don't say goodbye.

Wonderland
05:01
|
|||
Small town getting smaller
Every time the wind gets high
The same old birds flying over a western skyline
Driving on the same roads now for twenty or something years
Slowly turning a blind eye to the fact I'll never leave here.
And a little taste of heaven is just a whiskey away they say
But I'll never get that side of satisfaction until my job pays me
But the flowers at all the landmarks, remind me of sad times
And I can't go back there without a drink in me tonight.
So I went to see my man, and he told me about the wonderland, wonderland, wonderland.
The lamp post outside my window, flickers out into the street
It's the only way I've found to get my tired eyes to go to sleep
Getting so sick and tired of plastic rock and roll
All the good ones are dead now so we're always told.
And I'm unfortunate with love
Can't find the girl I'm dreaming of
Because all the good ones are taken in my little world
And the rest you pay for with your heart
Oh now

Fortune Teller
03:16
|
|||
I went to the fortune teller,
He said son look at your cards,
You've been driving on a road so fast but you've not got far
I went to the lady gypsy, she said drink from this cup and you'll feel alright
But she had me having bad dreams all the way through the night
But I think it's you, and no one else
That can break this spell
So I went to my mother, I said I think I'm in love
She said "you're far too young boy, to know the meaning of that word"
And I said "Please help me mother, won't you teach me the tricks of the trade?"
She said "That's a question for your father on another day"
Oh yeah, Alright

Nurse Louise
05:40
|
|||
Nurse Louise help me sleep,
You're the cure to my disease
So pretty please, never leave
Nurse Louise, you wouldn't do that to me, now would you?
We first crossed paths at seventeen, down the park we carved our names into a tree, took some LSD on Halloween, you were, always taking care of me.
Did you ever read about our friends?
Well some found love the rest found jobs working hard to pay for their graves,
And everyday's the same
Nurse Louise help me sleep,
You're the cure to my disease
Why do we treat them mean, watch them leave
Nurse Louise, you wouldn't do that to me, now would you?
